Grainy Old Photos

Life is all about balance and I’d like to take today to remember things of the past.

Sometimes we get stuck in a cycle of our daily dilemmas. Everyday, you wake up, get busy with work, come home, hope for relaxation and eat something to bring some comfort and do it all again the next day.

Sometimes it can be hard to remember what life was like maybe just a few months or years ago. Old grainy photos are invaluable. They remind us, in a way that is almost impossible to replicate, of when life was different and maybe a little more simple.

When you stumble on a box or a photo album, it is like taking a trip to a life that was long forgotten.

It was not on purpose that we forgot those moments, the very precious and heartwarming times. This is what our daily lives push upon us. As humans, it is only natural for us to get a groove and repeat ourselves. But those grainy old photos are hidden little magic gems.

Who is to say that there is no such thing as magic?

Creation Is the Only Thing Louder than Destruction

Today, I’d like to take a moment to appreciate the art in our world. It is constantly around us. Whether it is man-made or a natural occurrence, it allows us to take a few moments at will to take in something that is much larger than ourselves. It allows us to truly appreciate so many emotions and thoughts.

There are so many types of art. It is one of my favorite things about it. Whether you want nature art

beach cave

-or even word art.

Get out there and start creating, however you know best. Even macaroni art counts.

Saying no – Motivation

Sometimes your greatest enemy is yourself. It doesn’t always start this way. It was somewhere down the road of life when you weren’t paying attention.

The journey of beginning self-love is a rugged one. You will bring yourself down time and time again. You will constantly feel torn for what is right and what is wrong.

Letting yourself be torn by what and whomever is making you feel small does no one any good. We must all learn to care for ourselves. In the end, no one will be more disappointed than yourself if you don’t hold yourself dearly and chase your dreams.

If a friend spoke to you the way you speak to yourself, how long would you allow them to be your friend?

When I began my journey of learning to say no, I thought I was being selfish. What I did not realize is that there is a difference between being selfish and having self-love.

If your goal is to help, no matter the cost, you must remember yourself in that picture. As the saying goes, you cannot pour from an empty cup.

Whether you need a day or a change in your everyday life, make more time for yourself and your needs. You’ll be surprised at the differences you can make for yourself and others when your cup is full.
